A hub for beauty culture co-created with the community
This project involves construction and relocation of Milbon Co., Ltd.’s Kanazawa office.
Milbon is a leading hair‑care manufacturer that focuses on salon‑exclusive products. Instead of just supplying items, the company actively gathers insights from ongoing collaborations with hairdressers and uses them to shape product development.

For many years, Milbon has collaborated closely with hairdressers, to build value together.
As a key hub for beauty culture in the Hokuriku region, the The Kanazawa office needed to transform into a space that connects people and information more naturally with the local community. Keeping that in mind, the design concept was to express the relationship between the community and the office through space—bringing the spirit of Kanazawa into the layout and details.
The floor plan takes inspiration from the continuous spatial flow of Kanazawa’s traditional machiya townhouses, which move from a street garden to a shop area, then to inner rooms, and finally to a storehouse.
The long, open entrance space—mirroring the street garden—acts as a symbolic space that welcomes visitors. Traditional architectural elements, such as wall fixtures inspired by hashirama details, are reinterpreted in a modern way and used throughout the building.

This office‑studio, rooted in the region’s culture and memories, aims to become a place for true “co‑creation,” where Milbon, Hokuriku hairdressers, and the local community can grow together.
