OFFICE-RESPLENDENCE OF A HOTEL
An extraordinary office space like a hotel an office relocation project for DNS, which pursues "authenticity" and develops and sells proteins based on the world's most advanced sports nutrition. In the midst of proposing a hybrid work style that combines remote and real life due to COVID-19, we redefined what a third place should be. Remote work has increased the amount of time spent at home, making everyday life denser and more unusual. With fewer opportunities to go to the office, we decided to create an extraordinary office space like a hotel that makes you want to go to work when you visit occasionally. Open-space offices, which are a recent trend, encourage communication like in an izakaya, and can also lead to interactions that lack hesitation.
In the extraordinary hotel space of this project, people will naturally become "gentlemen" and "ladies," fostering a spirit of hospitality that is considerate and caring towards others, resulting in smooth communication. Generally, in order to facilitate smooth communication, the space is often made into a single plate and an open space. However, in today's world where diverse working styles are required, we wondered whether an open space was really appropriate. Instead of a hotel-like complex with various functions packed together, we divided the areas according to the necessary scale to create a variety of spaces where people can work comfortably.
By connecting each separate space with a travel line, we naturally increased the opportunities to see the entire office, encouraging communication. By unevenly arranging large and small boxes with various functions within the area, we created walls that act as planned eye stops. Graphics and information are displayed on the walls, bringing the brand image to the surface. Additionally, a circulation path that weaves through the boxes creates the flow of people, with the aim of making people unconsciously aware of meetings taking place in each area and encouraging communication.
