By uniting the assets of Iwaki FC with regional health care facilities, we created a clinic space that provides sports science services to Iwaki City. Medical treatment for professional sportspeople were made available in the region by offering access to top-class sports science doctors – including remote veteran doctors outside of Iwaki City using video conferencing systems. In addition, at the osteopathic clinic established alongside Iwaki FC Clinic, daily care is provided to patients with a "full body" approach to medicine - with a focus on preventive health care. Typical hospitals generally have dull, clinical, and impersonal surroundings where patients do not feel entirely comfortable. Whereas at Iwaki FC Clinic, built on the main floor of the Iwaki FC Park, our space design brings doctors and patients closer and promotes regular use though the soothing ambience of the lounge-like space. Patients are welcomed by a deep toned, calming interior which has the effect of easing stress and anxiety. What could have been a generic waiting room space has been reconceptualized into a space that patients can instead enjoy and relax in.
