Nanzenji Temple Approach: Kikusui The auberge hotel is located in the former residence of Teramura Sukeemon, a kimono merchant and tea master. The auberge hotel is surrounded by a renowned garden spanning 1330m2, designed by the 7th generation owner, Jihei Ogawa. Chrysanthemum water on the approach to Nanzenji Temple.
Even in the midst of tourist-filled Kyoto, Kikusui is located near the prestigious Nanzenji Temple, retaining the tranquility of an old villa area and being a secluded inn in a quiet area where you can hear the murmuring of the Lake Biwa Canal.
The weight of time, a tranquil Japanese healing SPA suite the hotel's previous guest room concept was centered around a stroll-style pond garden, which is synonymous with Kikusui, and all guest rooms and restaurants were designed facing the garden. In contrast, the new SPA suite offers a secluded, intimate stay, adding a new charm to Kikusui. The guest rooms are made up of a spa area called "Yudokoro," which was renovated from a previously unused large public bath, and features a large bath that feels like you have a public bath all to yourself, a reclining bath, a mist sauna, and an open-air bath, so you can spend the whole day bathing to your heart's content, and a lounging area called "Nedokoro," which is designed for unwinding and relaxing. The rooms are equipped with yukata-style loungewear that is easy to take off and can be used to relax in the bath as you like, before diving straight into bed, making for the ultimate relaxing stay.
